Family Nurse Practioner (pediatrics)

Description

Access, diagnose, monitor, promote health and protection from disease, and mange acutely, critically and chronically ill infants, children adolescent and young adult patients. Includes the development of treat plans, health counseling appropriate child and family education. NP’s may admit patients to the hospital. Assess, stabilized and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. The core pri8vileges in this specialty include the procedures on the attached procedure list and such other procedures tha tare extension fo the same techniques and skills.

Assess, diagnose, monitor promote health and protection from diseases and manage well babies consistent with neonatal-perinatal practice Nurse Practioners may admit patients to the hospital. Assess, stabilize and determine disposition of patients with emergency conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. The core privileges in this specialty include the procedures on the core competency list.
Nurse Practioner must participate in departmental meeting. Additional required hospital education and administrative meetings must be fulfilled in addition to CME. He or she may be asked to provide educational sessions for nursing staff.

Qualifications

ACLS/PALS / Neonatal ResuscitationNM Board of Nursing/NM Board of Medical Examiners LicenseBNM Board of Pharmacy License, Federal DEA numberNational Certification/ Nurse Practioner: One or more of the following, PNP, FNP, ACNP, NNP Hospital Privileges Master’s Degree or four years related experience or training in addition to mid-level certification with specialty in pediatric.
