Position Details
Surgical Technologist, Full-Time, 40 hrs/week, Day Shift.
Non-Exempt, Hourly, Bargaining.
Benefited position starting 1st day of the following month after hire.

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist is an integral member of the patient care team.  The surgical technologist provides highly skilled intra-operative technical expertise and care for the surgical patient through planning and implementation of the needs of the surgical procedure.  The wide variety of skills include; assisting the surgeon, set up and scrub all surgical procedures.  The surgical technologist operates as the sterile team member on all surgical procedures.  Responsible for aseptic technique and maintaining a sterile field while constantly anticipating surgeon's needs.  Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure.  Monitors PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies.  Assists in sterile processing department duties as needed.  Position requires 8 or 10 hour shifts to cover department Monday-Friday 06:30 - 20:00.  Position requires individual to assume "on call" duty on a rotating basis.  Call required to cover evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of previous experience working in an Operating Room preferred.
  • One year experience as an Operating Room Surgical Technologist preferred.  We will consider an applicant that does not have experience if we are able to provide surgical tech training.  This applicant would be required to compete and pass an on-site surgical tech training program within 6 months of hire date.  This is not a certificate program.  
  • Proof of completion of a surgical technician program preferred.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
