Title: Financial Analyst/Support Specialist

Department:  Finance.

Description: Acts as lead analyst on all Taos Health System Inc. related Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Contractual and Bad Debt accounting.

Location: Taos, NM - 1398 Wiemer Rd.

Education: HS Diploma or GED required.  Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required, may substitute experience, certifications and other education.

Position Details
Financial Analyst/Support Specialist, Full-Time, 40 hrs/week, Day Shift.
Non-Exempt, Hourly, Non-Bargaining.
Benefited position starting 1st day of the following month after hire.

Position Summary

Acts as lead analyst on all Taos Health System Inc. related Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Contractual and Bad Debt accounting.  Assists in preparation of the operating revenue budget.  Provides high-level analytical and procedural financial support services to finance departments.  Ad hoc responsibilities include but are not limited to providing pro formas, conducting education and training seminars in financial matters, and producing special analysis and reports as requested.  

This position is responsible for providing analysis and monitoring of contractual arrangements with third-party payors for Holy Cross Hospital.  These responsibilities include regulatory reporting, payor audits and reimbursement strategy formulation.  This requires maintaining a current knowledge of relevent hospital policies and governmental regulations, and analyzing the impact any changes will have on hospital reimbursement.

This position will assist the Controller on all Patient Financial Service projects and process improvement initiatives.  This position will also act as support for Financial Accounting and Revenue Cycle Services.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.  May substitute experience, certifications and other education.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.
  • General knowledge of Patient Financial Service Operations and Healthcare Reimbursement.
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills required.
  • Highly independent with very strong initiative.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail.
